Let’s cut to the chase, SEMrush isn’t a new tool in the industry, and I’m betting this isn’t the first time you’ve heard of it.
In this article, I’ll do an in-depth SEMrush review analyzing the features to see if SEMrush is worth the hype.
If you run an online business, you’ll agree with me that getting organic traffic is the hardest part of your work.
You can put all your time, money, and hard work and yet, see no result. And this can be frustrating!
But with a powerful tool like Semrush, you can reverse-engineer what’s working for your competitors and steal their strategies (don’t worry, this is legal).
In this Semrush review, I will explain the key features of Semrush and show you how to use it for your SEO and digital marketing research.
I will also show you how to utilize it to steal your competitors’ proven formulas, so you don’t have to build yours from scratch.
Without further ado, let’s begin.

SEMrush Review – What it does.
SEMrush is an all-in-one digital marketing and SEO tool that’s useful for managing an online business. The tool helps you uncover what your competitors are doing to succeed online to easily replicate them.
SEMrush is versatile; there isn’t anything it can’t do – from keyword research, site audit, social media post scheduling & posting, rank tracking, and so on.
While you may think its SEO functionalities are the only mouth-watering feature it offers, you will be blown away by its social media marketing features.
In short, SEMrush is a powerful tool that helps you stay ahead of your competitors on all online platforms.
Semrush Features – What it Offers?
As an all-in-one SEO tool, SEMrush’s dashboard houses several features and tools for your business. Let’s take a look at them one after the other:
1. Domain Analysis
The process of quickly evaluating the strength of a domain is called Domain Analysis. SEMrush allows you to get a sneak peek of the quality of a domain. You can perform domain analysis for:
- An expired domain
- Your website
- Competitors’ websites
When buying an expired domain for SEO benefits, it’s crucial to analyze the domain to understand its strength, backlink profile, and keyword(s) potential. These metrics will guide you to choose the best-expired domain that matches your project.
Also, you can perform domain analysis for your website to see if your SEO effort is paying off. You can see if your organic search traffic is spiking or dipping.
You can also analyze your competitor’s websites to see if it would be easy to outrank them. This means paying more attention to their authority scores, backlinks, and top-performing keywords.
And if you value external links, you should perform domain analysis for any website before accepting links from it. Unhealthy backlinks can destroy your SEO effort, which could lead to poor search rankings.
Analyzing a domain with SEMrush is fun; you only need to input the domain name, and within a few seconds, you get your result.
These are the metrics you get for every domain analysis:
- Authority Score
- The website’s monthly traffic
- Total number of backlinks pointing to the site
- Total number of keywords the site ranks for
- Backlinks anchor text variations
- Top performing keywords
- Display advertising stats
- Competitors’ websites
The metric that helps you understand the quality of a site, at first glance, is the “authority score.”
It’s calculated by a site’s backlink profile, organic search data, and monthly traffic. The higher the authority score, the better the quality and authority of a site.
Every metric of domain analysis is calculated by hard data except for the traffic data, which are often estimated and not 100% correct.
Even though SEMrush’s traffic estimation is helpful, a better way to gain insight into your website’s traffic is by checking your Google Analytics.
No SEO tool can give accurate data on a website’s traffic; they are only helpful in getting close estimates. More importantly, you can leverage them to analyze your competitors’ traffic.
Aside from SEMrush’s traffic data which isn’t 100% accurate, all other domain analysis data are super useful. For example, the ability to shuffle between locations could help you gauge keyword performance on a per-country basis.
Since keywords perform differently in every region, it’s crucial to know how your keywords are ranking internationally.
In conclusion, the domain analysis feature in SEMrush is a nugget that gives you an idea of how a site is performing SEO-wise.
2. SEMrush Keyword Research
Keyword research is one of my favorite SEMrush features. By doing keyword research in SEMrush, you can know the number of people searching for a particular keyword, how challenging it is to rank for the keyword, websites already ranking for the keyword, and also see related keyword suggestions.
And this breaks down into:
- Basic keyword data
- Keyword Suggestions
To get basic data on a keyword in Semrush, you will have to input the keyword into its ‘keyword overview’ tool. This will return you the result with tons of metrics. The result will show:
- The keyword monthly search volume for a selected country and globally
- ‘Keyword difficulty score
- Websites already ranking for the keywords
- Related keyword suggestions
- Cost per click (it estimates how much it might cost to bid for the keyword in an ad campaign)
And if you want more specific results for a region, you can select your preferred country.
If you want to see your SEO work pay off faster, the metric you should be paying more attention to is the keyword difficulty score.
The Keyword difficult score is expressed as a percentage ranging from 1 to 100, with one suggesting that the term is easy to rank and 100 indicating that it is difficult to rank for the keyword. This means you should be hunting for keywords with lower difficulty scores.
Also, SEMrush recently introduced a new data box under the keyword difficulty score that shows you how many backlinks (links from other sites to your content) you might need to rank for a search phrase.
Also, not 100% accurate; you should only use it as a guideline.
Sometimes, you won’t find any information below the keyword difficulty score, or you get a generic one like “lots of on-page SEO, link building, and content promotion efforts” to rank.
This means you need to create an awesome blog post and back it with on-page and off-page SEO to rank for that keyword.
Another tool in SEMrush called ‘keyword magic’ provides you with tons of keyword suggestions related to the phrase you searched for. It also allows you to sort these keywords leveraging different filters.
It’s important to remember that keyword difficulty is the best metric to quickly evaluate if a keyword is worth targeting.
The only downside is that SEMrush’s data is built to cater to Google searches only; it doesn’t provide data for other search engines like Bing.
However, when you realize that about 92 percent of searches are conducted on Google, you’ll agree that SEMrush is playing fairly.
3. Backlink Analysis
It’s almost impossible to enjoy sweet ranking spots for competitive keywords without many links pointing to a webpage.
Backlinks are said to be the currency of the internet. And there are two ways to picture backlinks in SEMrush:
- Backlink analysis
- Backlink audit
The backlink analysis option in SEMrush is suitable for getting backlinks’ statistics. Once you enter a domain name, you will see all the links pointing to it. You will also get detailed data such as:
- Anchor text distribution (exact words used to link to a webpage)
- Top-level domain count (number of .com, .org, .gov linking to a site)
- Information on IP addresses of the links
- Link attribute (how many links are tagged follow, no-follow, UGC, and sponsored)
All these metrics are straightforward; you can utilize them to see if a site is losing or gaining backlinks. This is very important to adjust your SEO strategy or even to decode a competitor’s backlink profile.
Of course, SEMrush’s backlink data is reliable considering that it claims to have up to 43 trillion URLs in its database, which is way more than its competitors; Ahref (20 trillion), Majestic SEO (10 trillion), and MOZ (41 trillion).
If these figures stand as fact, this means you can get more comprehensive backlink reports with SEMrush since it has the largest link database among others.
Also, not all backlinks are healthy, you should be paying more attention to the kind of links you are getting, and this leads me to the second way to see backlinks in SEMrush: backlink audit.
SEMrush Backlink Audit
The Backlink audit is a feature in SEMrush that lets you analyze a site’s link profile to fish out the ‘toxic’ backlinks.
To keep a site healthy, backlink auditing should be done regularly.
When a backlink audit is carried out, SEMrush will identify alleged toxic links, which you can review and upload to Google as a ‘disavow’ file if they are truly spammy.
This helps Google understand that you don’t need these links, as you feel they are harmful to your site.
And by doing so, you are helping your site stay strong because Google tends to punish websites building tons of unhealthy backlinks.
It doesn’t matter whether you built those backlinks yourself or not; you must always ‘disavow’ them to avoid Google penalties.
Overall, the ‘backlink audit’ feature is a key component of SEMrush. While you are doing the most to get the best out of your SEO efforts, your competitors might be doing negative SEO (building toxic backlinks to your site) to ensure you don’t rank for your target keywords.
This is why you should always conduct a backlink audit to identify and disavow bad links.
You also have an option of whitelisting links if you believe they are mistakenly picked up by SEMrush as toxic backlinks.
4. Rank Tracking
After writing comprehensive content following your ‘keyword research’ result, the next thing is to know your ranking position for the keywords you optimize for.
This is where ‘rank tracking’ in SEMrush becomes handy; it lets you monitor your SERP progress for a given keyword.
Rank tracking is very straightforward on SEMrush. Once you navigate to the position tracker section and input your domain name and the keyword(s) you would like to track, you will get the position you are ranking for those keywords.
You also have the option to track keywords ranking-position by country.
You can also track your competitors’ keywords on the rank-tracking tool. This lets you know when they outrank you, so you can analyze their sites to see what they are doing better to rank higher on search engines.
To top it all, you will get consistent daily email updates on your keyword tracking progress. For example, an email notification telling you that your blog post dropped out of the top 10 results for a particular search phrase.
This will enable you to always stay on top of your SEO game, so you don’t lose a ranking position without knowing.
And to be honest, even if you don’t implement rank tracking for all your target keywords, it’s vital to set it for your most valuable ones. Say your ‘money keywords,’ for example.
And if you are an SEO agency, you will enjoy the rank-tracking tool more than anyone else. You can get up-to-date data about your client’s keywords’ position without having to check them manually.
5. Competitor Analysis
I have mentioned competitor analysis several times in this SEMrush review, but I haven’t explained how to do it in detail. There are lots of ways to do competitors’ analysis in SEMrush.
First, you can identify your organic search competitors (websites competing with you on search results for your target keywords).
Navigate to Domain Analysis > Show Entire Menu > Organic Search > Competitors, enter your domain name, and hit search.
The result you get will include:
- Your top organic search competitors
- The level of competition
- The keywords your competitors are ranking for
- Competitors traffic
- visual representation of how they stack up
This competitor list will help you discover websites you don’t know are competing for the same keywords as you.
Also, if you click on any of the websites from the list of competitors, it will show a domain overview for the site. This is similar to the domain overview you saw earlier. It allows you to see their backlinks, top keywords, their competition, and how well they rank.
On the same page (at the top), you can get insight into how your competitors are performing in the organic search results, and it even allows you to check for mobile SEO traffic.
The graph also allows you to study their paid traffic. You can know when your competitors launch a new ad campaign, including the estimated traffic they are gaining from the campaign.
You can track their SEO and paid traffic for the last two years or throughout the lifetime of their websites.
And finally, on the overview page, you can discover your competitor’s top-performing keywords. If you want to gain deeper insight, you should click on the ‘view entire report’ button.
This breaks down all their keywords, showing you the keywords they are already ranking for and the ones they are trying to rank for.
Use the necessary filters to discover keywords that best align with your brand, so you can end up with tons of keywords you can steal to increase your organic search performance.
SEMrush isn’t only an SEO tool; it also has a social media toolkit you can leverage to run your social media pages efficiently.
SEMrush provides a full suite of social media management tools you can use to manage all your social profiles from a single interface.
Its social media toolkit includes the following tools:
- Social performance analysis and benchmarking
- Content scheduling and posting
- Trends identification
- Facebook post booster
- Social media ads creation
Social performance analysis and benchmarking. You can use the social media tracker tool to get a glance at the performance of your social media pages.
You can also track and manage all your social media accounts from a single interface.
This tool also provides tons of useful analytics like follower growth, number of posts published, engagement rates, etc.
The best part is that it allows you to track your competitors’ social media profiles. Even better, you can do a side-by-side comparison of your and your competitors’ social media profiles.
Content scheduling and posting: The social media poster tool can help you schedule posts in SEMrush, and it will be automatically published according to the scheduled time.
This tool is a time-saver that lets you spend your time doing more important operations while it takes care of your social media posts.
It also allows you to set recurring schedules and bulk post uploads so you can stay away from your social media accounts for a long time.
And if you don’t know the perfect time to upload for better engagement, the tool also helps you with some suggestions. And you can add UTM codes for better tracking.
Finally, you can create an editorial calendar within the SEMrush interface and import your posts as a CSV file. To cut yourself some slacks, it’s advisable to schedule one-week posts in advance.
Trends identification. The social media poster tool I mentioned above has a section that gives you insights into the performance of your content.
You can identify trends about the type of content your audience is engaging the most and those they don’t engage with. You can even track your audience’s demographics and growth trends.
These trends are helpful to help you adjust your social media content marketing strategy.
Facebook post booster. The social media poster tool also provides a unique feature for boosting Facebook posts.
In essence, you can pay money to increase the number of people who see your Facebook posts. It also lets you select the type of audience you want your posts to reach.
Finally, it also provides you with analytics to track the performance of your boosted posts.
Social media ads creation. This new tool–just like its name–is useful for creating and managing social media ads; Facebook and Instagram, at the moment.
It also provides you with cool features to streamline and optimize your ads. I should also add that this feature is still in its beta mode; it isn’t 100% effective (at the time of writing this SEMrush review).
7. ON-PAGE SEO Toolkit
Another powerful feature you get with SEMrush is the On-page SEO toolkit. This helps analyze the technical and on-page data of your sites.
There are tons of features to play with, but for this SEMrush review, I will only explain the most crucial on-page tools, which are:
- Site audit
- SEO content template
- Log-file analyzer
Site Audit
From the top, the Site audit tool, which is the most used tool in this on-page SEO toolkit, lets SEMrush crawl your site, just like a search engine crawler, to identify its weaknesses and strengths.
Performing site audit with this tool is a straightforward process:
- Click on the “new site audit” button at the top right corner
- Input your domain name and the project name (you can use your brand name as your project name)
- Select the number of pages to crawl per audit and crawl the source
- Choose “Crawler Settings” for further customization
- You can select specific types of URLs or delete URL parameters before the site audit
- Finally, you should pick a schedule for your site audits and start the audit.
Once the audit is complete, it will create a new project you can access from your main dashboard. To see the result of your site audit, click on the project.
The report will display tons of metrics useful for analyzing your site. See what it looks like:
You might find these metrics overwhelming if you are new to SEO, but they are super easy to understand. The result you get is an in-depth audit report that shows your site’s health (in percentage) and some problem areas to look into.
At the top, you will find some graphs that show the total number of errors, warnings, and notices you can explore right away. All the metrics below are clear, except for the “markup report,” a new addition.
The markup report gives you an insight into your markup use and implementation mistakes you need to look into.
The right thing to do is address all these issues, one after the other, to improve your overall site health score and boost your organic search performance.
Finally, if you are an agency or have multiple sites that you track, you should check the main dashboard to see all your projects, alongside the most important metrics.
The second feature in the on-page SEO toolkit is the SEO Content Template.
SEO Content Template
It optimizes your website’s content to boost your SERP rankings and increase your organic search traffic. And it simply works.
Once you conduct keyword research to find keywords you want to create content on, enter the keywords into the SEO content template.
SEMrush will crawl the top-ten results ranking for those keywords and provide you with tips to help you create SEO-friendly content that can compete with the top-ranking results.
You can also do this for specific countries’ search results – if you are trying to compete with top results in those countries.
This is what the result will look like:
The tool will give suggestions on related keywords you can add to your content, sites you should get backlinks from to increase your chances, readability score (how easy it is to read the content in the top 10 results), content length, and more, as shown in the screenshot above.
The last and very crucial tool in the on-page SEO toolkit is the Log File Analyzer.
Log File Analyzer
This tool is useful for understanding the crawlability of your sites, that is, what search engines see when they crawl your sites.
It will provide you with metrics like:
- Most crawled pages
- Pages that are not crawled
- Issues discovered during crawling
- Efficacy of crawl budget spend
- Etc.
Overall, the On-page SEO toolkit in SEMrush is very helpful in improving your SEO optimizations and boosting your rankings.
However, you should conduct site audits regularly to keep your site’s health in check and to always be aware of issues to fix on your sites.
8. Advertising Toolkit
Paid advertising is a crucial aspect of marketing to grow your business and stay ahead of your competitors.
SEMrush doesn’t only benefit you with its SEO and keyword research functionalities; it also provides you with mouth-watering advertising research tools.
For this part of my SEMrush review, we will look at features you can leverage to get the best out of your advertising campaigns. They are:
- Market analysis
- Ads keyword research
- Keyword grouping and management
- Ad Builder
When planning on launching a campaign, it’s very vital that you first understand the market. Market analysis for paid ads is a form of research that helps you uncover different advertising strategies your competitors are using, so you can steal their successful ideas.
SEMrush has made advertisement research super easy. You just need to input your competitor’s domain, and you will see the ins and outs of their ad campaigns. You will see their ad history, paid search rankings, paid pages, etc.
However, the section I found intriguing is the ad copy. This part reveals your competitors’ most successful ads to give you an idea for your campaigns.
You can also check the Domain Overview section to find quick details about competitors’ websites, including an overview of their paid ad performance, target audience, and more.
Even more interesting is that you can do a side-by-side comparison for up to five domains simultaneously using this tool.
Another place to get inspiration for your ad campaign is the display advertising tab. There, you can find the most unique and top-performing ad copies in your industry or for specific competitors.
This is also stress-free to use; you only need to enter your competitors’ domain and see the complete list of their running ads.
And the last feature in this section, PLA research, is suitable for eCommerce business owners. It enables you to find product listing keywords and to also discover websites competing for those keywords. You can even know the number of keywords your competitor’s product listing appears for.
Another feature useful for getting the best out of your ad campaigns is ad keyword research. For this part, you can leverage the keyword magic and keyword gap tools.
To use the keyword gap tool, you need to input your domain and that of your competitors, then click on “paid keywords.” This will analyze your paid keywords against that of your competitors.
To even discover more hidden keywords, click on the “untapped” tab to see queries your rivals are targeting, and you are not.
The keyword magic tool works differently. It requires you to insert a topic or a keyword to get a long list of keyword suggestions.
You can leverage the advanced filters to trim your search results to the most relevant keywords for your paid advertising.
Another useful metric that I think advertisers should pay attention to is Ad history. This feature displays the trend report for all the ads for a specific search query.
This means you can study previous ads for a certain keyword to know how well they perform. You can also use it to analyze what works and what doesn’t.
After finding your competitors’ ad keywords, you might think the next thing is to fire on with the campaign. Not yet!
You need to filter your keywords and put related keywords together, and this brings me to the next feature in the advertising toolkit, Keyword grouping and management.
To select and group your keywords, the PPC keyword tool is handy. What you can do with this tool includes:
- Collect keywords – You can search for new keywords or import keywords from your lists to power your paid advertising.
- Manage and optimize – You can utilize advanced filters to remove keywords you don’t need. You can also organize and group keywords for your ad. There is also an option of auto-grouping for only one keyword per group. Finally, you can also optimize for negative keywords.
- Erase conflicting keywords – It also can remove conflicting keywords so no keyword will appear in more than one ad group.
The last feature on the list of the advertising toolkit is the Ad builder.
After spending enough time analyzing your competitor’s ad campaign, the next step is creating an ad copy that stands out—something better than that of your competitors.
If you are already guessing that you can do this with SEMrush, then you are right! The Ad Builder tool is created for this purpose. You can use it to create appealing text and display ads.
There are tons of features you can enjoy with the ad builder tool, including:
- Cautioning you when you exceed character limits for titles and description
- Permitting you to use your competitors’ winning ads as your own
- Auto-generating ad tracking codes for all your ads
- Allowing you to preview your ads and also export them as a CSV file for text ads and a ZIP file for GDN ads
Local SEO
If your business is based in a specific country, you want to focus on local SEO so you can get the best out of your site. One of the features Semrush provides for this purpose is Listing Management.
With this robust Local SEO tool, you can get your website listed on the most authoritative directories in your region. And this, in return, will boost the visibility of your business.
This tool works by allowing you to manage all of your business information from a single dashboard for all directories. This helps you to always keep your information correct on all listings without having to do it manually.
Another of the Local SEO tools you can have access to is the Local ranking reports. This helps you to find your rankings in Google Local Finder. You will even see your local ranking in a heatmap, which makes it easier to analyze.
The final local SEO tool for this SEMrush review is the Review Management tool. This tool helps respond to your Google My Business and Facebook reviews from the tool. If you sell a product or render a service, I guess you know how important it is to always attend to your Google My Business and Facebook reviews.
Content Marketing Suite
Semrush provides a suite of helpful tools in every stage of content marketing, from content planning to creation, and distribution. It gives you access to tons of tools to work in different areas like:
- Generating content ideas
- Content optimization
- Performance analysis
- Content audit
- Content marketplace
The first and one of the most valuable content marketing tools in Semrush is the Topic Research tool. This tool helps you brainstorm content ideas, so you don’t have to do it yourself.
If you create blog posts regularly, then you will love this tool.
It’s very easy to use. Once you enter a seed keyword or topic, it will return with dozens of content ideas around that topic. It will also provide you with a long list of sub-topics related to your focus topic.
More importantly, you will get suggestions on the best titles for your content, including useful metrics to help you decide which one will work best.
Finally, it will provide you with a list of question-related keywords, i.e., keywords that start with “how,” “what,” “why,” “who,” and “where,” which you can optimize your content to make it more in-depth.
The next thing after creating content is content optimization.
A less-known Semrush feature is the SEO Writing Assistant. This tool serves the same purpose as an online editor; it helps you to correct your grammars, improve readability, and more.
What’s even better is that this tool checks your content with SEO in mind. It improves your writing quality and, at the same time, makes sure it’s properly optimized for search engines.
The bonus part is that it integrates with popular platforms like Google Docs or WordPress, so you can use it while working on those platforms.
After creating and publishing your content, it only makes sense to monitor your content’s progress. You can leverage the Post Tracking Tool in Semrush to measure your post’s performance.
The best part is you can track up to 50 posts at a time, including that of your competitors. Isn’t this interesting?
Well, it is, but the Content Analyzer is even more intriguing. While the post tracking tool works on only limited posts, the content analyzer gives a more detailed report of your content performance.
It can analyze thousands of posts and give detailed reports on their performance. It can even identify posts that need updating or rewriting.
If you have been using any content analytics tool before, the content analyzer in Semrush is a perfect replacement for it.
And finally, the content marketing suite is the Content Marketplace. This is a new inclusion to Semrush, and it’s a good one. This marketplace is where you can order quality content written by expert writers at a reasonable price.
You can get content at different prices, or better still, you can subscribe to a monthly or annual plan to enjoy a discount rate.
There is also a database of Stock Media that contains visual content like videos, vector images, pictures, icons, etc.
Finally, with a premium plan, you can enjoy the Shared Workspaces feature that lets you collaborate with three team members on the platform.
Agency Solutions
Semrush is super helpful for marketing agencies in many ways. If you run an agency business, there are tons of tools and features on Semrush built for you.
First, you can access the Agency Partners Platform, where several brands and potential clients can discover your agency. This grants you access to advanced reporting functionalities within the “My Reports” dashboard.
This way, you will be able to reach an unlimited number of client managers who could help you manage your client reports, projects, data, etc.
SEMrush Pricing and Access to a Free Trial Account
For all the mouth-watering features Semrush offers, you wouldn’t expect it to come at a giveaway price. However, the pricing is moderate, considering the plethora of value it provides.
Semrush operates on three main pricing plans:
- Pro – $129.5 per month (suitable for smaller companies and startups)
- Guru – $249.95 per month (best for agencies and medium-sized businesses
- Business – $499.95 per month (perfect for large businesses, big agencies, and e-commerce operations)
For big enterprises that need more accessibility, features, and larger data, there is a ‘custom’ version of Semrush that allows them to create customized plans that match their needs. This is called the enterprise plan.
However, you don’t have to commit to a paid-for plan yet; you can enjoy a 7-day free trial plan that allows you to enjoy Semrush’s core features without inputting your credit card details. There is also an extended 30-day free trial version, which requires you to enter your credit card information.
Semrush pricing is similar to other competing SEO tools like Ahref, Moz, and Majestic (a $49 per month plan for majestic but limited features).
All Semrush plans do pretty much the same thing; the only difference is that the higher the plan, the more flexibility you get with the tool. Here are the key differences between the plans:
- Access to content marketing tools (pay for higher plans to unlock more tools)
- Access to historical data
- Number of reports you can run per day (the higher the plan, the higher the number of reports)
- Number of keywords you can track per month
Pay more to get more.
SEMrush Pros and Cons
The pros of using Semrush include:
- It’s user-friendly
- Its domain analysis feature that lets you see crucial SEO data at a glance is commendable.
- Semrush allows its users to get more reports per day when compared to its key competitors.
- Aside from organic search data, Semrush also provides pay-per-click data to help users run paid ads.
- Users can leverage its site auditing feature to identify key areas to improve their sites’ on-page and technical SEO aspects.
- Semrush’s user interface is clean and appealing, and the graphs and visual presentation of data make the metrics understandable.
- There are three standby support systems–phone, chat, and email–to attend to users in need, which is better than Ahref and Moz.
- Offers a 7-day free trial (no credit card required) which could be extended to 30 days if you add your credit card details.
The cons of using Semrush are:
- Semrush is most suitable to use on desktop as it’s not responsive on mobile devices.
- Every plan on Semrush comes with one user account; you need to pay more to add an extra user to your account.
- Semrush only provides data for Google, while some of its key competitors, like Ahref, give access to data for other search engines.
- Using some competitor analysis tools attracts an additional $200 per month.
- To use some key features, you need to add them as part of projects, and Semrush restricts the number of projects you can run at a time.
- The 30-day free trial requires you to input your credit card details, which most people are uncomfortable with.
Final Verdict – Is SEMrush Worth It?
In this Semrush review, I did my best to explain the key features of Semrush and how you use it for your business. Semrush is a powerful tool that I recommend for anyone looking to succeed in their SEO projects or who is willing to boost their online presence.
Regardless of your company’s size and the type of online business you operate, Semrush will surely help you grow your business. There are different plans that cater to different business sizes. So you will find a plan that fits you.
The reason why I recommend Semrush is because it saves you extra costs. For example, instead of paying for a keyword research tool, content scheduling & posting tool, and ad builder tool separately, you can access all of them with a single Semrush plan.
You can start a 7-day free trial or a 30-day free trial, which requires adding your credit card to your account.
