As I said earlier, Installing WordPress on your computer using Instant WordPress requires very little effort. You need to download latest version of Instant WordPress EXE file form their website www.instantwp.com. Open downloaded EXE file to install it and follow on screen instructions. Choose where you want to install Instant WP via selecting destination folder and it will install.
Now, go to installation folder and find InstantWP.exe file, create a shortcut of this file on your desktop. So that you can easily access it when you want to use WordPress on your computer (localhost)
You can also Install Instant WordPress on a USB drive, you only need to choose destination folder on USB drive during installation.
How to use Instant WordPress
Open InstantWP program directly from the shortcut you have created on your desktop. It will look like the picture given below.
Click on the WordPress Admin block and Instant WordPress will open in your browser. Login username would be ‘admin’ and password would be ‘password’. And now you can access your locally hosted WordPress Dashboard. You can also open WordPress login page by using the URL provided at the top of InstantWP program.
Themes and plugins installation will be much easier using Instant WordPress program. You can directly access your localhost theme and plugin folder by visiting the links ‘Plugin Folder’ & ‘Theme Folder’ on the home screen of Instant WordPress. You can also access Php-my-admin by using WordPress SQL queries, it is the simplest and easiest easy way to test SQL query on WordPress.
It is always recommended to use latest version of Instant WordPress, it comes preloaded with default WordPress content i.e. themes and plugins for starting.
I have also tried WordPress local installation on my computer using Xampp and WAMP. They are equally good and serve the purpose, but installation of WordPress using Xampp and WAMP is such a tedious job. If you re-install OS on your computer frequently, like I do, Instant WordPress is just for you. I am using Instant WordPress from last couple of years. And I find it easy, fast and reliable.
